One of its mission programs, Arts in Healing brings creative activities into healing environments such as Robley Rex VA Medical Center, the Vet Center and Athena's Sisters. Veterans and families write poetry, create visual works of art, drum, dance, sing and listen to music at these organizations, 11-15 hours per week. Warrior's Heart Community, a program of Arts in Healing, provides opportunities for warriors and civilians to come together to create safe, non-judgmental, and supportive circles for veterans to share and explore their stories, using the arts, ritual, connection to the earth, and the steps of the warrior's return journey of ancient warrior traditions. This program is based on the work of Dr. Ed Tick. For more information see www.soldiersheart.net.
